Band formed in 1979 in Birmingham England by four members
of Birmingham Punk Group The Perfects . Before nightingales
splitting up played more sessions on John Peels BBC Radio one
show than any other band excluding The Fall & Half Man Half
Biscuit . They re grouped in 2004 . They have released 12 Studio

The Damned are an English Punk Rock Band formed in London in
1976 . Genres Punk Rock / Gothic Rock / Post Punk & Psychedelic
Rock. Years Active 1976 -2023. As one of the first Gothic Rock
Bands The Damned featuring Lead Singer Vanian Baritone singing
dark lyrics & Vampire themed costumes. Were a major influence
on the Goth Subculture . Their fast driven Punk Rock has been
cited influencing & shaping the emergence of Hardcore Punk in
the late 1970s & early 1980s in the United Kingdom & United
States . The band has had a few break ups & members changing.
