Laura Phillips ( Laurie ) Anderson ( Born June 5th 1947 in Glen Ellyn
Illinois . Is an American Avant Garde Artist , Musician & Film Maker .
Her work spans Performance of Art , Pop Music . Initially trained in
Violin & Sculpting Laurie pursued a variety of performance & Art projects
in New York City during the 1970s focusing particularly on Language ,
Technology & Visual Imagery . She achieved unexpected commercial
success when her song ‘ O Superman reached Number Two in the UK.
Single Charts in 1981. Anderson Debut Studio Album Big Science was
released in 1982 & has been followed by a number of Studio Albums .
She Starred in an Directed THE 1986 Concert Film Home Of The Brave

Lewis Allan Reed Born March 2nd 1942 in New York City US. & Died in
October 27th 2013 ( Age 71 ) East Hampton New York US. & will be
sadly missed such a Talented Musician . He was an American Musician
& Songwriter & was the Guitarist & Singer & Principal songwriter for
Rock Band The Velvet Underground & had a Solo Career that spanned
Five Decades . Although not commercial . Successful during it existence.
The Velvet Underground became regarded as one of the most influential
Bands in the history of underground & Alternative Rock Music . Reed’s
distinctive deadpan Voice Poetic & Transgressive Lyrics & experimental
Guitar playing a trademarks throughout his long career . Having played
Guitar & Sung in Doo Wop Groups in High School Reed studied Poetry
at Syracuse University under Delmore Schwartz & had served as a Radio
D/J A Late Night Avant – Garde Music Program while at College . After
Graduating from Syracuse . He went to work for Pickwick Records as a
Songwriter & Session Musician & meet fellow Session Player at Pickwick
John Gale together with Sterling Morrison & Angus Mac Lise they would
form The Velvet Underground in 1965 . After building a reputation on the
Avanti Garde Music Scene . Reed quit the Band in 1970 . After leaving
the Band Lou Reed would go on to much more commercially successful
Solo Career releasing Twenty Solo Studio Albums . Debut Studio Album
Lou Reed ( 1972 ) & his Second Studio Album Transformer ( 1972 ) was
Produced by David Bowie & arranged by Mick Ronson & brought him
Mainstream Recognition . Reed Participated in the reforming of The
Velvet Underground in the 1990s & he made several more Albums .
