William Martin Joel Born May 5th 1949 ( Age 74 ) New York City US.
Billy Joel is an American Singer / Songwriter & Pianist commonly
Nicknamed The Piano Man after his Signature 1973 Song of the same
name . Joel has had a successful Music Career as a Solo Artist since
the 1970 s from 1971 -1993 he has released Twelve Studio Albums .
That spanned the Genres of Pop & Rock Music & in 2001 released a
one off Studio Album of Classical Music Compositions . Billy Joel is one
of the Worlds Best Selling Music Artist in the United States with over 160
Million Records Sold Worldwide . His 1985 Compilation Album Greatest
Hits Vol. 1. & Vol. 2. is one of the Best Selling Albums in the United States.
Born in New York City in the Bronk . Billy Joel grew up on Long Island .
Growing Up he took Piano Lessons at his Mothers Insistence. After
Dropping out of High School to purse & Music Career Joel took part in two
short lived Bands The Hassles & Attica before signing a Record Deal with
Family Productions & Starting off a Solo Career in 1971 with his Debut
Studio Album Cold Spring Harbour . In 1972 Joel caught the attention of
Columbia Records after a Live Radio Performance of the Song Captain Jack
became popular in Philadelphia .Prompting him to sign a new Record Deal
with the company & release his Second Studio Album Turnstiles ( 1976 ) .
His Critical & Commercial Break Through Album The Stranger in 1977 .
This Album became Columbia’s Best Selling Release selling over 10 Million
Copies & Spawning several Hit Singles including Just The Way You Are ,
Movin’ Out ( Anthony Song ) , Only The Good Die Young & She’s Always a
Women . Across the Years of his Solo Career Joel Produced 33 Self Penned
Top 40 Hits in the US. three of which It’s Still Rock & Roll To Me , Tell Her
