Mott The Hopple where an English Rock Band formed in
Herefordshire Originally named Doc Thomas Group . The Band
changed the Name after signing with Island Records in 1968. The
Bands Albums at the beginning of the 1970s but Failed to find any
Success & on the verge of breaking up . They were encouraged by
David Bowie to stay together. Bowie wrote their Glam Style Signature
Song All The Young Dudes for them . Which became their First Hit
Single in 1972 . Bowie subsequently produced their Album of the
same name despite Band Members changes. The Band experienced
further commercial success with Mott ( 1973 ) & the Hoople ( 1974 )
Lead Singer Ian Hunter departed the band in 1974 . He went Solo
after he left the bands commercial fortunes began to Diminish , they
remained together with continuing Band Members Changes until the
break up in 1980 . The Band have had Reunions with Ian Hunter in
2009 , 2013 ,2018 & 2019 . 2009 Reunion on 16 January that the
Band would be re-uniting for Two Concerts at the Hammersmith
Apollo in London in October 2009 according to Ian Hunter’s Web
Site all Five of the original members would participate . In the Re.
2013 Dates Mott The Hoople ( Featured Alan , Hunter , Ralphs &
Watts with Martin Chambers on Drums ( Replacing Dale Griffin who
was a founder member was ill & has died at the age 67 in 2016 &
will be sadly missed as he was amazing Drummer & Percussionist .
