Avatar is a Swedish Heavy Metal Band Formed in Moindal Gothenburg in
2001 . The Band has released Nine Studio Albums . The most being
” Dance Devil Dance ” in ( 2023 ). The Band has some success on US Rock
Radio , notably with their Song ” New Land ” Which peaked at No. 20 on
the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs Chart in May ( 2017 ) & ” The Dirt I’m
Buried In ” peaking at No 1 on the same Chart . In August ( 2023 ) making
it the longest journey to number 1. in the last 20 years . ( History ) Avatar
was Formed as Lost Soul in the summer of 2001 by Drummer John Alfredsson
& Vocalist Christian Rimmi . There were a lot of changes in the early years, one
of the replacements was current Guitarist Jonas Jarlsby . After a name change
to Avatar . The members decided to disband the Band due to the lack of
interest of most members in playing Heavy Music . Some months latter
Alfredsson & Jarlsby & decided to return with this Line Up , The Band performed
their First Concert on January 21st 2003 at the Folket’s Hus in Moindal Sweden.
The Last Member Change took place in October 2003 with Simon Andersson
replacing Riseberg . Competing the Bands First Stable Line Up . Avatar released
Two Four Song EP. Demos in ( 2004 ) ” Personal Observation ” released on 18th
January 2004 & ” 4 Reasons To Die ” on 19th November 2004 . Avatar’s Debut
Studio Album ” Thoughts Of No Tomorrow ” was released on 25th January 2006.
It peaked at 47 on Sweden Album Top 60 . The Band completed several European
Tours as Support Act FOR Impaled Nazarene , Evergrey & In Flames Avatar’s
Second Studio Album ” Schlacht ” was released on 24th October 2007 reaching
spot 27 on the Swedish Album Chart . Bjorn Gelotte from ” In Flames contributed
a Guitar Solo on the track ” Neverland ” ” The Subsequent set of Tours saw them
Perform at the 2008 Swedish Rock Festival . The Bands Third Studio Album
” Avatar ” released on 20th November 2009 reaching 36th on the Swedish Album
