The Pretenders are a British – American Rock Band Formed in March 1978

The Original Line up consisted of Founder & Main Songwriter Chrissie Hynde

Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar , James Honeyman Scott Lead Guitar & B/V &

Keyboards , Pete Farndon Bass Guitar & B/V & Martin Chambers Drums, B/V

Following the Deaths of Honeyman Scott in 1982 Peter Farndon in 1983

Both will be sadly missed . The Band experienced numerous personnel

changes , Hynde has been the Bands only consistent member. The Bands

& moved to London in 1973 , working at the weekly music paper NME. & at

Malcom McLaren & Vivienne Westwood’s Clothes Store . She was involved

with early versions of the Sex Pistols , The Clash & The Dammed & Played

in Short Lived Bands such as Masters Of The Backside ( 1976 ) & The Moors

Murders ( 1978 ) but failed to find a regular or equal partnership in the

Bands she joined . Their self Titled Debuted Studio Album was released in

January 1980 & was a success in the United Kingdom & the United States

both Critically & Commercially . Produced by Chris Thomas it is regarded

as one of the best Debut Albums of all Time . The Second Full Length Studio

Album Pretenders 11 was released during August 1981 After Farndon &

Honeyman – Scott’s very sad deaths . Re Grouping ( 1983 -1989 ) continued

in the band after the sad Death of their members. They have done 12 Studio

Albums . Latest Relentless ( 2023 ) Origin Hereford England . Years Active
